A Google Business profile is just as important as your website.
Customers search Google every day for goods and services, but local customers search for local businesses because they have a need–right now. Having a well-developed Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business or GMB) is JUST AS IMPORTANT as your website because it is what your customers will see first when they search for what you offer.
Let me show you. I searched for “rain gutters Spokane WA” and these are the results. Google comes up with a list of businesses and a map:

Let’s look a little closer at two of these listings. First, K.R. Siding & Rain Gutter. What you see here is the default “listing” in Google. If you do nothing to build out your GB profile, this is what it looks like. The basic information is there and nothing else.

Now let’s take a look at Perrenoud Roofing, Inc. As you can see, they have a well-developed GB profile that gives good information and has reviews with responses from the business, which attracts customers. These screenshots are taken scrolling down the listing.

Which company would you call?
This is why you need a profile that is set up, well-developed, and regularly updated on Google. This company shows what products they use, photos from job sites, an FAQ section, and reviews from customers. A dog groomer would want to have a full menu of services with pricing and pictures of some of their best-groomed pups. A restaurant will have its full menu and a link to its website, to make a reservation. Your customers will find your listing, check your website, and call you.
